formationThe courses are taught by Thierry Boccoz, cutler blacksmith for 15 years. Our courses are held throughout the year for any adult (man or woman) who wish to learn or improve skills related to traditional forging work. The dates of the sessions will be determined with the trainees depending on availability. The cost includes the courses, the metals, and the tools. The lodging and meals are the responsibility of the trainee.

Making a liner lock folding knife

1 week (35 hours)

Level : Beginner

Public : Anyone wishing to learn the basics of cutlery forging.

Tracing shapes of the folding on graph paper.
Forging of the blade
Grind
Heat treatment.
Formatting the insite metal plates.
Manufacturing the liner, the central axis, and the push button with an insert.

Initiation to forging

Public: Anyone wising to learn the basic of cutlery forging. 

Defining the molecular structure of various materials (steel, Damascus)
Explanation of multiple types of blades (flat, silk, for folding knife)
Blacksmith's Demonstration in real-time of how to forge a blade
